ADMINISTERING

Using the Server and Addin Task Event document

You can create a Server and Addin Task Event document that contains event detail such as event type, event subtype, event severity, and suppression time, as well as Probable Cause (PC), Possible Solution (PS), and Corrective Action (CA) statements.

Information in the Server and Addin Task Event documents is stored as Lotus® entries, Custom entries, and Stock entries.

You may want to define your own Custom entries that contain Probable Cause, Possible Solution, and Corrective Actions statements that you choose for events that you are familiar with and that frequently occur in your domains. These Custom entries are stored in the databaseEVENTS4.NSF as are the Lotus entries and Stock entries that ship with Domino®. Lotus entries are created by HCL development and ship with Domino. Do not modify or delete the Lotus entries.

Stock entries consist of all pre-Domino 8 entries and are comprised of Probable Cause statements, Possible Solutions, and either a formula Corrective Action or a LotusScript® Corrective Action. The Lotus entries have replaced the Stock entries for this release of Domino and all subsequent releases. You can hide or display Stock entries by clicking the Hide Stock Entries button or the Display Stock Entries button. After clicking the Hide Stock Entries or Display Stock Entries button, close the Server and Addin Task Event document, and then reopen it to activate your choice.

If you have made modifications to Stock entries, those modifications can be overwritten when you upgrade to a newer release of Domino. To preserve your modifications, complete the steps in the procedure Preserving modifications to Stock entries.

In addition to creating Server and Addin Task Event documents, you can also modify or delete those documents.
