Using an IP sprayer with Domino for LDAP failover

You can cluster LDAP servers to increase the availability of data. One way to do that is to create a Domino® cluster of LDAP servers, and then use an IP sprayer to direct client requests.

For example, there may be two LDAP servers in a Domino cluster that contain a replica of the LDAP directory. An IP sprayer can directs an LDAP client to LDAP Server 1. If LDAP Server 1 is not available, the IP sprayer can directs the client to LDAP Server 2.

You can also use an operating system cluster for LDAP failover.

If you are using directory assistance, you can use either directory assistance failover or Domino failover.
